Advantages of HAM Radio

Our society at large must be well protected. During times of crisis, the protection given by the disaster management forces must be swift & highly proactive. In order to gain such objectives, the disaster management crew must be well trained to handle high-tech equipment of communication to provide information about the vulnerability of the condition they are subjected to and the severity of calamity currently they are facing.

Unlike commercial systems, HAM Radio is not as dependent on terrestrial facilities that may fall during a time of disaster. HAM services are dispersed throughout the community region without “choke points” such as cellular telephone sites that can be overloaded.

*The license is governed by the Indian Wireless Telegraphs (Amateur Services) Rules, 1978. WPC, Ministry of Communication & IT.
