Exercise Rahat’ for disaster relief
The Indian Army in conjunction with NDMA has organized ‘Exercise Rahat’ on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief – earthquake contingency in Rajasthan on 11 th and 12 th February 2019 at Jaipur & Kota.
The organizers of the ‘Exercise Rahat’ have requested Mount Abu International Ham Radio Club to demonstrate Ham Radio communications during ‘Exercise’ under Information and Communication Network (ICT).
Representatives from Armed Forces, National Disaster Management Response
Mechanisms (NDMRM), SDMA and DLMA and Amateur Radio Operators from Mount Abu International Ham Radio Club have participated in the exercise at Jaipur and Kota in Rajasthan.
During the exercise, an earthquake scenario had been created and all aspects of disaster management and relief and rescue operations during any such Eventuality had been worked out on ground for better coordination and speedy Operations with the aim of minimizing civilian casualties.

Lieutenant General Cherish Mathson, Commander-in-Chief, South Western Command of the Indian Army had witnessed the disaster management exercise at Kota.
